Written Exam

The written exam is available year-round at testing centers across the state. You can find more information on our Written Exam Webpage.

Oral Exams

To register for the oral exam(s), you must have passed the court interpreter written exam and attended either the in-person Orientation or taken the online Orientation. Details about the orientation are provided to individuals who pass the written exam.

The registration for the Court Interpreter Oral Exam is now open. You can register online here: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7477117/Court-Interpreter-Certified-Oral-Exam-Registration-2023.

Where and When
Spokane: October 12 and 13, 2023
Olympia: October 18, 2023
Shoreline: October 21 and 22, 2023

You will be asked which date and time (morning or afternoon) you prefer. After the registration deadline, you will receive the exact time and address of your exam at the location you chose.

Fee
$300

Spokane and Olympia: September 12
Shoreline: September 18

Requirements:

Summer Trainings

Registered Languages

The oral exams for registered languages can be completed by appointment. To register for the exams, email interpreters@courts.wa.gov.
