Washington State Courts: Time For Trial Task Force

Time-for-Trial Final Report

Average and Mean Duration from Filing to Commencement of Trial,
Superior Court Criminal Cases, 2001
The following table was generated from JIS data. The data excludes time during which a case was in "suspended status" (cases out on warrant, on appeal, on post-filing diversion, continued for prosecution, or on deferred prosecution). This table includes only those criminal cases that went to trial (including jury trials, non-jury trials, and trials by affidavit), rather than all criminal cases. An accompanying table addresses resolution of all criminal cases (whether or not they went to trial).
