Judge David H. Armstrong

Judge David Armstrong was raised in Kitsap County, graduated from the University of Washington in 1967, and from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1964. He spent two plus years with a San Francisco law firm before joining the San Bernardino District Attorney’s office to gain trial experience. Judge Armstrong returned to Kitsap County in 1970 where he joined a small general practice firm. For 25 years, Judge Armstrong tried a broad variety of civil and criminal cases, achieving the highest rating possible from a national rating service of lawyers.

Active in both the Kitsap County Bar and the Washington State Bar, Judge Armstrong served as special district counsel to the bar and as an alternate member on the Judicial Conduct Commission.

In 1995, he ran for and was elected to a position at Division Two. He was Chief Judge from 2000-2002. Judge Armstrong served on the Court of Appeals until retiring in September 2012.

Judge Armstrong found his time on the court to be stimulating, challenging, and rewarding.

Judge Armstrong currently lives in Port Orchard.
