Judge Susan R. Agid

Judge Susan R. Agid was born in Chicago, Illinois, and later moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, where she spent her childhood.

Judge Agid received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from Columbia University Law School. After 12 years in private and public practice, primarily in the areas of land use and discrimination law, she was appointed to the King County Superior Court in 1986. In 1991, Governor Booth Gardner appointed Judge Agid to Division One of the Court of Appeals.

Judge Agid has written two books and many articles on legal subjects. She has been on numerous boards and committees, including the Executive Committees of the King County Superior Court and Court of Appeals, the Core Mission Committee of the Commission of Justice, Efficiency and Accountability, and the Washington State Bar Association Environmental and Land Use Law Section. She has also chaired the Status of Women Litigants Subcommittee of the Gender and Justice Task Force and chaired the National Conference of State Trial Judges’ Task Force on Professionalism.
