CJC Canon 7 (A) (1) (b) prohibits a judicial officer from publicly endorsing a non-judicial candidate for public office. A part-time judge is not exempt from this prohibition. Therefore, Judge Harris may not publicly endorse a candidate for county prosecutor as a judicial officer, as an attorney or a private citizen. (Opinion 93-9)
