New Dashboard Reporting Tool Offers Enhanced Way to Explore Court Data

August 18, 2025

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Dashboard Reporting Tool (DRT) — a new, user-friendly platform that provides interactive access to caseload data and key court metrics.

Through a series of dynamic dashboards, the DRT will allow users to visualize and explore court trends through access to centralized data visualizations for in-depth analysis and reporting.

The dashboards currently available are:

  • Annual Protection Orders – Shows criminal and non-criminal protection orders and case filings
  • Trial Courts Caseload – Displays case filing activity for the Superior Court and Courts of Limited Jurisdiction in Washington state
  • Crime Victim Services – Provides an interactive directory of crime victim services searchable by service type, county and tribal affiliation
  • Dependency – Offers the public and courts insight into how the system is performing in finding permanent outcomes for dependent children
  • Disparity in Criminal Case Filings – Highlights disproportionality in filings at the intersection of race and gender, and identifies which charges are driving disparities across jurisdictions
  • Juvenile Justice – Presents data on juvenile justice at key decision points, including dashboards for arrests and juvenile court data
  • Language Interpretation Needs – Describes the prevalence of spoken language interpretation requests by court and language, and compares request frequency to court service area demographics

“The benefit for the public is having court data that's an interactive display in a consistent look and feel, so that they know where and how to get the core data,” Charlene Allen, DRT Administrator, said. “We want to make data real, so that they can interact with it and get what they need out of it by self-service instead of having fixed reports.”

The project is a result of two years of collaborative effort between the AOC’s Washington State Center for Court Research (WSCCR) and AOC’s Office of Enterprise Data.

“For us, the DRT provides an opportunity to share court data with the public to make it more accessible and understandable for everyone,” Rachael Sanford, a Data Visualization Specialist for WSCCR, said. “Having access to reliable and timely information about court operations is essential for public trust and confidence in the courts.”
