Electronic Monitoring with
Victim Notification Technology
(EMVNT) Program

Electronic Monitoring with Victim Notification Technology (EMVNT) is designed to enhance the safety and security of victims of domestic violence. By tracking the location of restrained parties using advanced GPS technology, EMVNT ensures that victims are promptly notified of any potential threats, enabling them to take necessary precautions.

How EMVNT Works

EMVNT uses both active and passive GPS technology to monitor the location of restrained parties. Active GPS transmits real-time location data to the monitoring agency, allowing immediate alerts in case of violations. Passive GPS sends location data at scheduled intervals, providing comprehensive tracking information.

Victim Notifications

Victims can receive notifications through email, text, and push notifications. They can also use a mobile app to notify law enforcement if they encounter the restrained party, ensuring a quick response.

Model Policies and Best Practices

To support jurisdictions in implementing EMVNT effectively, we have developed comprehensive model policies and best practices. These guidelines provide a framework utilizing EMVNT as a tool to protect victims.

The templates below are customizable for use in your jurisdiction.

Training and Resources

We offer webinars to help system and community partners understand and utilize EMVNT. Learn about the system, its benefits, and how to implement it in your jurisdiction.
