The Remote Jury Trials Workgroup has developed recommendations regarding best practices in light of the on-going challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The workgroup did not make recommendations on whether or not courts should conduct remote jury trials. In performing its work, the workgroup prioritized practical and equitable issues. It did not provide legal advice or analysis.
Best Practices in Response to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) was produced with input from a variety of justice partners and considered issues such as judicial education, lawyer education, public access, technology issues, community input, and inclusion.
