About Self-Help Washington

Purpose

The purpose of Self-Help Washington is to provide accessible resources to help people without lawyers navigate our Washington Courts.

Brief History

Self-Help Washington was created to provide accessible resources to help people without lawyers navigate Washington Courts. It was initially projected to launch in October 2026 with the top 20 resources needed by Self-Represented Persons (SRPs), as identified by stakeholders, court users, and the access to justice community. We wanted to provide information to the public sooner. The first iteration of Self-Help Washington provides individuals with access to needed resources that complement the great work of Washington Law Help. Self-Help Washington will be a continuous work in progress; future iterations will include more resources, language options, and how-to videos, all of which increase access to justice in our Washington Courts.
