  • CJC Canon 2(B) provides that judges should not lend the prestige of judicial office to advance the private interests of others. (Opinion 85-5)
  • CJC Canon 5(B)(1) provides that a judge may not participate in activities that could imply a commitment to a cause which is likely to come before the judge. (Opinion 88-9)
  • CJC Canon 5(B)(1) provides that a judge may not participate in an organization which will be engaged in proceedings that would ordinarily come before the judge or will be regularly engaged in adversary proceedings in the state courts.
  • CJC Canon 5(B) permits a judicial officer to serve as a member of the board of regents of a private university.
