  • Judges should not endorse any nonjudicial candidate (CJC Canon 7(A)(1)(b)) or group of candidates or ballot measures that are not concerned with the law, the legal system and the administration of justice (CJC Canon 7(A)(5).

  • CJC Canon 2(A) provides that judges should conduct themselves at all times in a manner that promotes confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary.
  • CJC Canon 5(G) prohibits the appointment to a governmental board that is concerned with issues of fact or policy other than the improvement in the law, the legal system or the administration of justice. (Opinion 88-2)
