About Data Access, Sharing, and Development

Washington State makes a tremendous investment to ensure the accurate governance of administrative data from the courts, justice system partners, and treatment and other service providers. WSCCR’s first data obligation is to use data for the benefit of the public. Accessible court data contribute to making the justice system more transparent and to improving its function by using measures of effectiveness, accessibility and equal justice. WSCCR’s data governance roles include:

• Working with court staff and partners in the AOC to improve data accuracy across court systems
• Working to fill data gaps by increasing access to existing court data sources, engaging in data share agreements with outside partners and developing new original data collection efforts
• Responding to data and information requests from outside partners
