RESCINDED - 2015-1 Modifying Procedures for Reports of Proceedings for Court Reporters and Transcribers (Rescinded)

GENERAL ORDER 2015-1

IN RE GENERAL ORDER TO MODIFY FILING PROCEDURES FOR REPORTS OF PROCEEDINGS FOR COURT REPORTERS AND TRANSCRIBERS

            WHEREAS amended RAP 9.5(a) (effective 09/01/15) requires that reports of proceedings be filed at the appellate court rather than at the clerk of the trial court, and

             WHEREAS Division II desires an efficient and prompt method for filing transcripts with it, now therefore, it is hereby

             ORDERED that General Order 2013-2 is superseded.  It is further

             ORDERED that all court reporters and transcribers file an electronic copy of the reports of proceedings in portable document format (.pdf) using Division II’s Clerk’s Office Filing Portal, found at http://www.courts.wa.gov/jis/?fa=jis.coaFilingForm&div=2, and the filing of the electronic copy is the official filing date of the transcripts for the purpose of filing and sanction deadlines, PROVIDED that the paper copy is received as set forth below.  It is further

             ORDERED that the original paper copy of the transcript be received by Division II’s clerk’s office within 15 days of the date the electronic copy is filed.  Failure to submit the paper copy of the transcript will subject the court reporter to sanctions as if the reports of proceedings have not been filed.  RAP 9.5(b).  Repeat violations of this provision of this General Order may preclude a court reporter or transcriptionist from the benefits of electronic filing and the convenience allowed under this General Order.  As with any form of sanction, a court reporter or transcriptionist may file a request to waive this sanction.  It is further

             ORDERED that this order shall be effective September 1, 2015.
