COUNSEL
State of Washington,
v.
Reynaldo Redmond
Andrea Vitalich
David Donnan/Susan Wilk
SYNOPSIS: In 2001, Mr. Redmond was involved in a fight at Lindbergh High School in Renton. The State charged him with criminal assault. Mr. Redmond claims he acted in self defense. Three issues are presented. First, whether the trial court erred by refusing to give the jury a no duty to retreat instruction. Second, whether the trial court erred by admitting medical records that contained a vivid description of the high school fight. Finally, whether the trial court erred by admitting statements that the victim heard from other students that Mr. Redmond had been looking for him.
