SYNOPSIS: The Supreme Court must decide whether the trial court abused its discretion in granting a motion to withdraw the defendant’s guilty plea. The defendant did not disclose his prior juvenile convictions at the time of his plea. When they were ultimately discovered, the defendant’s offender score and minimum jail sentence required under the law increased.

SYNOPSIS: Alizon Veit was seriously injured when a train collided with her car at a railroad crossing. Veit sued the railroad company, alleging violations of internal speed limits, among other claims. Is Veit's excessive speed claim preempted by federal law, and did the trial court’s ruling regarding RCW 46.61.345 deny her a fair trial?
