Hall has worked in the Washington Court System for 21 years, and has served as the State Court Administrator since 2008. His resignation will be effective June 30, 2012.   

 

Hall joined the AOC as a court services specialist in 1991. He left the agency to serve as Benton and Franklin Counties Superior Court Administrator from 1995 to 2002, rejoining the AOC in 2002 to serve in various capacities, most recently as State Court Administrator. Hall holds bachelor degrees from Seattle University and a master’s degree in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver, College of Law.

  

The Administrative Office of the Courts was created in 1957 to provide professional and technical support to the state's 255 courts. The agency operates under the direction and supervision of the Chief Justice of the Washington Supreme Court.

 

The AOC is responsible for the execution of administrative policies and rules in Washington’s judicial system. With the assistance of staff, the administrator compiles court statistics; develops and promotes management procedures to accommodate needs of state courts; studies and evaluates information relating to the operations of the judicial system; and provides pertinent information on court operations to the members of the judicial community, branches of government and the public. 

 

The administrator’s staff also manages the state’s Judicial Information System (JIS) and prepares and submits budget and accounting estimates relating to state appropriations for the judicial system.
