RE: Revised DOH Guidance to Courts — Updated August 28, 2020

Dear Colleagues:

Yesterday, the Department of Health (DOH) issued revised guidance to state courts. For your convenience, attached is a PDF version. Additionally, the following link will take you to the most current version of the DOH Guidance. See, https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/1600/coronavirus/CourtGuidanceCOVID-19.pdf.

As indicated on page 14, the clarifications in this revision include:

  • Page 5, Phased Resumption, provides clarity for applicability to courts.
  • Page 8, Face shields, includes a web link to additional L&I information.
  • Incorporates updated statistics and minor edits for consistency throughout the document.

While this DOH Guidance is a "living" document and subject to revisions as public health directives change, we understand that the document is stable and no immediate revisions are contemplated. We are grateful to our DOH Consultant, Glen Patrick, for his continued assistance to our state courts.

Please feel free to contact either of us directly if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Chief Justice Debra L. Stephens
