When asked how much certain influences and factors contribute to the cost of going to court, national and Washington state results vary only slightly.

  • 84% say the cost of having a lawyer contributes a lot to the cost of going to court.
  • 73% say court fees contribute a lot or at least some to the cost of going to court
  • 80% say the slow pace of justice contributes a lot or some to the cost of going to court
  • 77% say the complexity of the law contributes a lot or some to the cost of going to court
  • 80% say the amount of personal time required contributes a lot or some to the cost of going to court
