Interpreter Services Funding Task Force

In March of 2017, the Board for Judicial Administration (BJA) voted to adopt obtaining adequate and sustainable funding for interpreter services as one of their strategic priorities for 2017-2019. In June 2017 a task force charter was approved by the BJA and work began in July.

The Interpreter Services Funding Task Force was created to identify the current demand for interpreter services statewide, the costs associated with providing these services, and statewide funding options to meet these needs.

The Interpreter Task Force submitted a 2019-21 legislative budget request for $2.1 million to expand the Court Interpreter Reimbursement Program. The Task Force was successful in obtaining the funding.
