Webinar: End of the Eviction Moratorium: Issues Facing the Judiciary and the Use of Discretion

January 8, 2021
The Minority and Justice Commission partnered with the Superior Court Judges Association, the Commission on Judicial Conduct, and the KCBA Housing Justice Project to present the CJE webinar titled, End of the Eviction Moratorium: Issues Facing the Judiciary and the Use of Discretion.
Our distinguished panelists discussed the challenges that Superior Court judges will face following the end of the state eviction moratorium, and ways that the use of judicial discretion can be employed to avert the most harmful dispute outcome - eviction. Because of the long history of housing discrimination in this state and nationwide, BIPOC residents are disproportionately at risk of housing insecurity.
