1 Beginning 1/01/2011, petitions for distribution of property from committed, marital-like relationships are filed in the domestic relations case type under the "Committed Intimate Relationship" cause of action. Previously, these cases were filed as civil "Meretricious Relationship" cases. Any associated custody and paternity matters continue to be filed as a separate case.
2 Pursuant to Chapter 11.130 RCW, all new minor custody case filings must be initiated as a minor guardianship in the Probate/Guardianship case type effective January 1, 2021.
