Title 11 Guardian ad Litem and Court Visitor
A Title 11 Court Visitor is an individual appointed by the court to perform duties specified in statute and as ordered by the court. Title 11 court visitors are appointed in both adult and minor guardianships. A Title 11 Guardian ad litem (GAL) is an individual appointed by the court to inform the court about, and to represent, the needs and best interests of an individual involved in a case in superior court.
Court Visitors and GALs are different from guardians and conservators, including a certified professional guardian and conservator (CPGC). A CPGC is an individual or agency who serves as the legal guardian and/or conservator of at least three individuals and provides this service as a profession. If you are looking for information about a CPGC, please see Certified Professional Guardian and Conservator Program.
