Multi-System Youth
The Multi-System Youth Project aims to improve the awareness of and understanding for youth in the State of Washington who have experience in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
The Administrative Office of the Courts has partnered with the Washington State Department of Social and Human Services/Children's Administration to create a dataset that allows for longitudinal analysis of youth involved in both the courts and the child welfare system. Funding for this project is provided by the federal Court Improvement Program.
Longitudinal data has and will continue to be utilized in the production of reports that address the prevalence, characteristics, and outcomes of multi-system youth in Washington. Written reports inform stakeholders at the local and state level, and adhere to the mission of the Court Improvement Program to improve outcomes for children and families. This project is susceptible to modifications according to collaborative efforts and policy momentum.
