Communications Committee

Chair: Laura Edmonston

The Communications Committee promotes the work of the Gender and Justice Commission through publications and outreach events. In recent years, the committee has partnered with the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ), the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington State Women's Commission, and Washington Women Lawyers to put on an annual Women's History Month CLE.

On March 21st, the GJC hosted a Women's History Month CLE/CJE to discuss Reproductive Rights in the Post-Dobbs Era. The webinar featured an all-star line-up of panelists who covered reproductive rights in the United States, jurisprudence, the legal landscape post-Dobbs, extradition, the full faith and credit clause, and Washington State's "Shield Law." A recording of the presentation is available here.

The Gender and Justice Commission is pleased to present our 2017-2019 Report. We hope this report will enhance your understanding of the issues and the efforts that are underway to ensure that justice works for everyone. Through collaboration, innovation, and education we can reach our goals together.
