Qualifications

Court visitors and GALs in guardianships, conservatorships and other protective arrangements are required by statute to complete training. See RCW 11.130.155 for qualifications, training requirements and appointment process. Court visitors and GALs will be required to provide information such as related training, criminal history, experience and previous appointments as a GAL or court visitor, and whether the GAL or court visitor was removed from a registry because of a grievance. For GAL and court visitor eligibility requirements, contact the GAL/Court Visitor Program Manager for that court.
