Information Services Division

The Information Services Division provides IT support to all levels of courts through the development, operation, and maintenance of the statewide Judicial Information System (JIS). The division also provides in-house technology services and support to the Administrative Office of the Courts, Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeals.

Architecture and Strategy

The Office of Architecture and Strategy determines the overall strategic technical direction for the agency and Judicial Information System (JIS); and designs and architects technology solutions that align with that direction and meet the business needs of Washington courts and AOC.

Data and Development

The Office of Data and Development ensures that data is stored and organized in a way that allows for data requests from courts and judicial partners to be fulfilled in a way that is consistent, up-to-date, and accurate. This office is also responsible for the development of data exchanges with judicial and other agency partners.

IT Operations

The Office of IT Operations ensures that the Judicial Information System (JIS) applications used by Washington courts, the court community, and the public are well maintained and supported. The office provides support for the following systems:

IT Security

The Office of IT Security identifies information security issues to mitigate security vulnerabilities, conducts IT risk assessments, and promotes information security awareness, education, and training for Administrative Office of the Courts' staff.

Policy and Planning

The Office of Policy and Planning manages the internal operations of the Information Services Division to ensure that internal business processes and procedures are running smoothly.

Project Management and Quality Assurance

The Office of Project Management and Quality Assurance performs project management activities so that IT projects are managed and delivered in the most efficient and cost-effective way. The office also performs quality assurance and software testing to identify defects in new applications, enhancements to existing applications and ensure upgrades are completed for infrastructure systems.

Technology Infrastructure

The Office of Technology Infrastructure manages the networks, servers and databases for the Administrative Office of the Courts, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeals. The office also provides and maintains workstation computers, software, and conferencing systems, and performs regularly scheduled disaster recovery drills.
