Administrative Services Division

Under the direction of the State Court Administrator, the Administrative Services Division provides dependable leadership, effective planning, and exceptional service to the courts.

Communications and Public Outreach

The Office of Communications and Public Outreach serves as the central communications office for media and public inquiries and requests concerning Washington's judicial branch. In addition to providing guidance and support to judges and court personnel in matters of media relations, the office is involved with community outreach and the staffing of several committees.

Court Innovation

The Office of Court Innovation is on the cutting edge of evidence-based practice and access to justice issues by utilizing empirical research, evaluation and performance reporting.

• Supreme Court Commissions
  The Washington Supreme Court Commissions includes the Gender and Justice Commission, Minority and Justice Commission, Interpreter Commission, and the Commission on Children in Foster Care. Together and separately, the commissions work to promote equal justice, greater access to justice, and eliminating bias in our courts.
• Washington State Center for Court Research
  The Washington State Center for Court Research (WSCCR) serves as the research arm of the AOC, to connect the work of the courts with other agencies throughout Washington in order to provide better outcomes for citizens in the court system.

Human Resources

The Office of Human Resources provides professional advice and consultation to employees and management on HR issues to ensure that high-quality employees are hired and retained in compliance with laws, rules, and requirements.

Judicial and Legislative Relations

The Office of Judicial and Legislative Relations serves as AOC's primary legislative contact to the legislative and executive branches and speaks on behalf of the Board for Judicial Administration, the Supreme Court, and Court of Appeals, as necessary.

In addition, the office provides staff support to the Washington State judicial associations, including the Board for Judicial Administration (BJA), Superior Court Judges' Association (SCJA) and the District and Municipal Court Judges' Association (DMCJA).

• Board for Judicial Administration
  The Board for Judicial Administration is charged with providing effective leadership to the state courts and developing policy to enhance the administration of the court system in Washington State.
• Court Association Support
  The Court Association Support section works closely with all court associations and judicial partners to provide governance, guidance and collaboration in planning, policy development and court administration.
